I Need An Attitude Adjustment

As I write this I am, as Tom noted, powering through the printing of another ten family cookbooks. As luck would have it, the printer has jammed twice so far and I'm not even a third of the way through the 91 pages. Once I finish, however, I'll have printed 20 altogether and I'll be done until after the holidays. I'll have the first batch bound next week, then I need to move on to other projects. Christmas is coming after all.

I've worked alone in the Clothes Closet the last couple of weeks, except for one day when I deferred to a brutal migraine. On top of that, I've developed a slight attitude. I don't know if I'm just tired or I was a little naive walking into the project, but it seems like there's more than our share of greed and manipulation lately from our clients. They're oblivious to the needs of anyone but themselves and not only expect to walk out with more than enough clothes for everyone in their home, but with extra to give to other friends and family members as well. It makes me feel like a Grinch having to recite the policies over and over again in order to leave enough warm clothing to go around to everyone in need.

I'm looking forward to having the Thanksgiving holiday to take a few deep breaths, rejuvenate and readjust my attitude. Then just shortly after that, our Christmas vacation starts and I'll get to see my niece and nephew and their spouses, grand nieces and nephews, son, daughter-in-law, granddaughter and grandsons. I plan on stockpiling a shit load of hugs and love and sunshine for two whole weeks, enough to get me through a couple of months at least. I think I'm gonna need it.

They're doing some early Christmas shopping at the Clothes Closet? Better batten the hatches come Black Friday.

Christmas shopping indeed. Luckily, we're only open one day this week and it's not Black Friday, although I fear it will feel like it.
