Life Lessons We Could Learn From Dogs...

It's cold, the temperature hasn't risen above 25 degrees in over a week. Well, maybe it's not cold by International Falls, MN standards, but by Arkansas standards, it's freezing, literally and figuratively.

Since we arrived home from our vacation a couple of weeks ago, I have been hold up in the house, sneezing, sniffling, whimpering and coughing up lung cheese (my son, Mike's, definition of chest debris and such an apt term). Finally, this morning I awoke with no fever and feel better. Tom is feeling better, too, after four days home from work (including the weekend) and he ventured out this morning to see what he might accomplish at work.

Sunday morning as I was lying on the couch, I caught the last 20 minutes or so of CBS Sunday Morning and saw an interview with one of my favorite actors, Stanley Tucci. Following the show was Meet the Press. I moaned and thought, I simply cannot tolerate more political grandstanding, and turned off the tv. I'm glad I did because I'm sure I didn't miss much...except apparently for the end of the program.

This morning while perusing the various news sites, I wandered into the Daily Beast article, "7 Best Moments from Sunday Talk." There were videos of those "7 best moments" which included lots of the usual political rhetoric from Liz Cheney, George Will, AHnold, Michael Steele, Lieberman and Romer. You know the drill...we're right and they're wrong, blah, blah, blah.

In the middle of all of the crap was this little editorial at the end of Meet the Press when Bob Schieffer quoted an email he received from a friend.

If you are unable to view the video above, you may do so HERE

I think maybe some of us have forgotten what it means to live our lives well. Is this why Cesar Milan always says he rehabilitates dogs, but he trains humans? Back to basics, friends, back to basics.

Well, it did rain today. And you don't have horrific fires.

Hope you're better.

You forgot you also have earthquakes. Oh, but we have tornadoes, torrential rains and flooding.

I am feeling better, thanks.
